Family Strengthening Program 

ABOUT
THE PROGRAM

The mission of the Refugee Family Strengthening Project is to eliminate the social issues of domestic abuse and violence and to promote healthy Hmong families through prevention and educational outreach in the Greater Chippewa Valley. 

SERVICES

The Family Strengthening Program assists families with legal advocacy, supportive counseling and providing outreach to service providers and Hmong families on domestic violence prevention and awareness. 

COLLABORATIONS

The Family Strengthening Advocate works closely with the local Clerk of Courts, the DA's Office and other service providers to ensure that Hmong families are provided in a culturally sensitive and relevant manner. 

SUPPORT GROUP

Through the Family Strengthening Program's Viv Ncaus (Sisters) Sewing Circle-a support group that meets twice a month to sew and/or craft while discussing issues relating to domestic violence in the Hmong community. The mission of this support group is to build sisterhood among victims/survivors. 

UPCOMING EVENTS
Phoraiser 

Annually in April, raising awareness for Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence; gender-based violence in the Hmong community, in collaboration with our Building Bridges Youth Program.
