Hmong Victim Advocacy Services
Program objectives are to inform Hmong victims of crime of their rights, to provide a culturally sensitive response to the emotional needs of Hmong crime victims, and to facilitate participation in the criminal and civil justice systems.
The Community Liaison and Legal Advocate work closely with both local justice systems and the Hmong community to build understanding and confidence in law enforcement and the district attorney's office and to develop and enhance
co-advocacy relationships with other victim service providers in the Chippewa Valley area.
LAW ENFORCEMENT COLLABORATION
Liaises with ECPD and other law enforcement agencies in the Chippewa Valley to help ensure Hmong victims of crime are appropriately served
VICTIM SERVICE PROVIDERS COLLABORATION
Works cooperatively with other social services agencies when appropriate to make sure that services are provided to individuals and/or families in a culturally sensitive manner
HMONG COMMUNITY
SERVICES
Helps Hmong individuals and their families understand mainstream and cultural norms to help reduce tensions between the Hmong community and the community at large. The Community Liaison also conducts workshops and education sessions upon request
